BRIEF

Chris Brown wanted to localize his brand to consumers across the Continent while also showcasing his talents beyond his musical skills by taking on acting roles. South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) was looking for ways to ensure that its top rated soap opera for 10 years running, “Generations,” remained cutting edge and expand its appeal to its consumers interested in North American Culture.

 

OUR SOLUTION

ACA pitched and succeeded in securing Chris Brown to play a new character role on “Within Generations.” Chris had the ability to engage with local actors, connecting with a new fan base thru TV rather than music. Even with Chris only being in-country for 5 days, we were able to not only write but produce 3 episodes in which he acted. Episodes aired 3 months later and were among the highest rated episodes in the history of Generations.

 

CULTURAL SHIFT

Major global star acted in a locally produced soap opera showing the industry and consumer that their stories matter and resonate globally and expanding global star’s international appeal.
