Ama Qamata rose to popularity as the leading actress on Netflix’s second African original series ‘Blood & Water’. Ama plays the role of Puleng Khumalo in the show which came ranking in as a number 1 show in the US and the UK on. The actress then starred in the popular local television series, Gomora, where she played the role of Buhle Ndaba, a spoiled teen forced to relocate from the suburbs to a township because of her father’s debts.
Ama has been featured in GQ South Africa and has been profiled in international publications such as the New York Times, NY Post and Teen Vogue. She has been identified as a style icon and won the Next Big Thing Award from The South Africa Style Awards.
