ROSEMARY ZIMU

Rosemary Zimu started her career in theatre and starred in the South African stage production of Moulin Rouge. Rosemary made her feature film debut in the Nollywood movie ‘Champagne’ playing a femme fatale scam artist who finally meets her match. Her role in Champagne, nabbed her a nomination for the Most Promising Actress of the Year. Rosemary later went on to star in several South African television shows including; Wena Wedwa, Isidingo, Generations: The Legacy and Scandal.

Rosemary joined the cast of ‘The Queen’, one of the most popular shows in South Africa. Following Netflix’s launch in South Africa, Rosemary landed a featured role on the Netflix original series ‘Shadow’, and a starring role in the newest Netflix African original series ‘Savage Beauty’which premiered in 2022. In the same year, Ayeye Stripped was released, where Rosemary stars as Zoleka, a 30-year-old left on the verge of destitution. In February 2023 ‘Nine -The Movie’ was played at the Johannesburg Film Festival; where Rosemary plays a detective by day and leads an all female assassin group by night. Rosemary is the lead and the only South African cast member in the film.
