Eugene Mbugua

Eugene Mbugua is the visionary founder and CEO of D&R Studios, also known as Young Rich Television. He has created and produced numerous hit television shows—including “Get In the Kitchen,” “Stori Yangu,” “Our Perfect Wedding,” “Foods Of Kenya,” “Being Bahati,” “Sol Family” (with Sauti Sol), “This Love” (with Wahu and Nameless), “Kyalo Kulture” (with the Kyalo Sisters), “Concert Nyumbani,” “Easter Kwetu,” and “Roast House”—which have graced the screens of K24, KTN, NTV, Maisha Magic East, Showmax, Iflix, Kwese, Startimes, Trigger (South Africa), and Kirk TV.

A momentous achievement for Eugene was the historic broadcast of “Concert Nyumbani” in June 2020, which aired simultaneously on 12 major TV stations in Kenya. He’s also been the executive producer of NBC Universal’s globally renowned franchise, “Real Housewives of Nairobi,” for which he won for Best TV Show at the Kalasha Film Festival in 2024.
